James J. "Froggy" Greatorex, in his own words "HAS FINALLY CROAKED" a resident of Everett and formerly of 113 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his home in Everett. He was 81 years of age.
Froggy was born in Boston on January 29, 1940, a son of the late John Greatorex and Mabel (Marley) Greatorex. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Froggy worked as a Currier for Smith, Kline & Byron Company and retired following 38 years of dedicated employment. Following his retirement, Foggy worked at The TD Garden as an usher for the last 9 years. He enjoyed traveling to Aruba and Las Vegas with his wife and children and also enjoyed the many trips to Saratoga and Eastover with his wife and close friends. He was a longtime member of the Oceans Eleven Club at gate 16 on Revere Beach. Family was very important to Foggy and he cherished the special moments he shared with his wife, 3 daughters, 2 sons and their families.
Froggy is the beloved husband of the late Dorothy F. "Dottie" (Cotter) Greatorex. He is the devoted father of Jimbo Greatorex and his wife Michelle, Jacko Greatorex and his wife Sandy, Paula Zouhkri and her late husband Noureddine, his "third son" Devil Mahoney and the late Karen Greatorex and Dorothy Greatorex. He is the loving Grampy to Casey, Matthew, Jaime, Emma and his great-granddaughter Avery. He is the beloved brother of Judy Madieros, Helen Groggett and the late Eddie, Ellie, Elizabeth, Joseph and Robert. He is also survived by his loving extended family of the Cotter, Keniston and O'Callahan families and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Froggy's visiting hours on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 3 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. followed by his Celebration of Life at 6:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
