Ilona Royce Smithkin 1920-2021
After requesting a small sip of vodka and with a twinkle in her eye, Ilona Royce Smithkin passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 1, 2021. She was 101 and ½ years of age.
Everyone who met Ilona was touched by her tremendous energy. She was loved and admired by all who appreciated her beauty, wisdom and deep passion for life. Throughout her life, she fully embraced being a teacher, artist, entertainer, an accomplished painter, a top model [at 95], writer, celebrity and friend. While she took delight in the fame and recognition it brought to her in later life, she had a fierce desire for privacy.
She requested that there be little fanfare upon her death and no public services.
