David M. Lantz, 76

Dateline: Norton, MA

David M. Lantz, age 76, of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan E. (Sheehy) Lantz, to whom he was wed for twenty-eight years at the time of her death on March 10, 2010.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 24, 1945, he was a loving son of the late Jack D. Lantz and the late Irene D. (Nowosad) Siekierda.

David grew up and was educated in Michigan. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While in the service, he attended Officers Candidate School and was honorably discharged with the rank of captain. He also served in the United States Army Reserve and obtained the distinguished rank of Major. For his heroic service in Vietnam, David was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

A resident of Norton for over forty years, Mr. Lantz was a retired metal fabricator having been employed at the former J.H. Warren Company in East Providence. Following retirement, he worked at Wampum Corner Wine and Liquors in Wrentham.

David’s favorite times were those spent traveling with family, especially Christmas vacations at Disney World and trips to Twin River Casino in Lincoln. He was a member of the Pawtucket Lodge of Elks and had a deep love for animals which included raising German Shepherds.

He is survived by his devoted children: Michael J. Bourdeau and his wife Kathleen of Attleboro, Michelle “Missy” McKinnon and her husband Greg of North Attleboro and Noel Bourdeau and his wife Angel of St Cloud, Florida. He was the cherished grandfather of Alicia L. Gallagher and her husband Matthew, Danielle M. Trosky and her husband Andrew, Jacob D. McKinnon, Imara W. Kariuki, and the great grandfather of Parker, Scott, Graham and Lachlan. He was the loving companion of Joanne Lund and her family of Norton and was the brother of Cheryl of Michigan and the late Daryl.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend graveside services, with military honors, on Saturday, August 14th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Common Cemetery, 200 West Main Street (Route 123) in Norton.
