Robert Hunt, 70, of New Bedford, formerly of Buffalo, New York, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 1st, 2021, in his oceanside home.
Robert was born April 26th, 1951, in Venice, Italy, son of the late Stanley I.T. and Carla F. (Ancona) Hunt, he lived in Buffalo, New York before moving to Massachusetts.
Robert followed his dreams in life. Big or small, he went after what he wanted with passion and didn't care what anyone thought. He had an eye for detail and the finer things. As an artist, he appreciated beauty in everything from food, to art, to fragrances and his surroundings. Per Robert's own words, he did not pursue art, it pursued him. It dogged him throughout his day and never rested. Art was the beast he felt he must feed every day and it was never content. He did not choose to be an artist, to create, or to express what was in his head, it chose him and he was its slave.
One of his greatest gifts and dreams fulfilled, was being able to share wonderful memories with his children and fiancé in Italy, where he was able to relive many of his early memories of his country, especially his beloved city of Venice.
One of Robert's biggest accomplishments was being a father. He is loved and will be missed immensely.
Survivors include his fiancée, Linda Parker of New Bedford; his three children, Joseph Anthony Hunt, of Texas, Evelyn Hunt of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Monica Anne Hunt of Winthrop, MA; his brother, Thomas Hunt and his wife Jane of Buffalo, New York; his sister, Christina Hunt of Arizona; his two grandchildren, Alexander Hunt and Jillya Jannetti; and a nephew, Thomas Cloutier, Buffalo, New York.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 8th from 2:00-5:00 P.M. in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His Graveside Service will be private. For directions and guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
