Michael A. DeVita

TEWKSBURY” Michael A. DeVita, age 63, a former longtime Tewksbury resident, recently of North Berwick, ME, passed away at the Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Born in Winthrop on June 22, 1958, he was the son of Sheila C. (DeVita) Tallent of Tewksbury and the late Andrew M. DeVita. He was the step-son of the late Herbert F. Tallent and uncle of the late Matthew Joseph DeVita.

Michael was raised in Tewksbury on Henry J. Drive. He attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1977.

For the past 47 years, he was employed by the Market Basket Company. He began his career at Store # 22 in Tewksbury and most recently at Store # 75 in Biddeford, ME.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed golfing, cruising in his Jeep, and was a loyal Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox fan.

Mike will lovingly be remembered for his devotion to his mother, sisters, brother, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Donna Powers and her husband Edward of Kensington, NH, Sandra Anderson and her husband Wayne of Londonderry, NH, his brother and best friend, Andrew DeVita and his wife Colleen of South Windsor, CT, and his sister, Diane Donaldson and her husband Todd of Lowell; his extended family, Linda Tallent of Reading, and Bill and Robin Tallent of NH; his nieces and nephews, Brian and Emily Powers, James and Cait Powers,Tim and Nicole Powers, Heidi and Chris Fitzpatrick, Jeff and Sasha Anderson, Nick and Nicola DeVita, Tom DeVita and Rachael David, Kristen and Alex Bordonaro, Andrew, Nathan, Rachel Donaldson, Ken Perry, Connie and Enrico Innocenti. His great nieces and nephew Austin and Siena Fitzpatrick, Evangeline Powers.

Calling hours are Monday, August 9, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Tuesday, August 10, at 10:30 at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will take place at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring his memory may be made to Maine Medical Center Annual Fund.
