Robert J. Jaczko Sr of Natick MA passed away on July 2, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 83 years old. Pre-deceased by his wife of 47 years Maryann C. Jaczko in 2007, he is survived by his son, Robert J. Jaczko Jr. and daughter-in-law Cynthia S. Jaczko of Wellesley MA, and three grandchildren: Nicholas S. Jaczko of Oakland CA, Robert J. Jaczko III of Brooklyn NY, and Lily A. Jaczko of Wellesley MA.
A native New Yorker, he graduated in 1959 from Hunter College in New York City with a BA in Journalism/Public Relations. Bob then attended U.S. Naval Officers Candidate School in Newport RI and was commissioned Ensign, USNR, then promoted to LT (JG) Public Information Officer on the USS Lake Champlain aircraft carrier. Historically, Bob participated in the NASA Astronaut Recovery Program for the Gemini/Mercury space missions. Following the Navy, Bob was Public Relations Director for the Wadsworth Atheneum Art Museum in Hartford CT from 1962-1967; VP Public Relations Acct Exec, Wilson, Haight & Welch Inc. (JWT Agency}, Hartford; VP Advertising Creative Director, Bresnick WHW Agency, Boston; SVP Advertising Creative Director, Doremus/BBDO (Omnicon) Agency, Boston; SVP/CD/GM Doremus/BBDO, Boston. Bob opened his own public relations firm in 1994 founding Gemini Creative Strategies in Boston, working internationally until his death. A fearless world traveler, Bob worked/played extensively throughout the U.S., Western and Eastern Europe, North Africa, Polynesia, Pacific Rim, the Far East, Mexico, Caribbean and Canada. He traveled to every reach of the world, and was described by all his international friends and colleagues as someone who truly embodied 'Bon Vivant'. He dearly loved his grand kids and went out on top. What else could you ask for?
