Mary J. (Simpson) Frederickson age 81 of Brockton died peacefully on Monday August 2, 2021. She was the loving wife for 56 years of the late John R. Frederickson. Together they enjoyed camping with their young family, vacations in Bridgeton, Maine, cross-country skiing, sipping a cold one on the sugar shores of Captiva and exploring America and the islands of the Caribbean.
Mary was born and raised in Brockton and lived in the city for most of her life. A 1957 graduate of Brockton High School, she was the membership secretary at the Brockton YMCA for over twenty years. She was so loved by everyone in Brockton that everywhere she went someone stopped to say hello.
She shared her love of singing with her sister, Claire and were members of the Sweet Adelines. She was also a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in N. Easton where she sang in the choir and was involved with the Stephen Ministries. Mary was a past president of the resident council at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in N. Easton.
Mary was the mother of Debra Frederickson of Attleboro, Gloria Goodwin of Hull and John Frederickson and his wife Donna of Taunton. She was also the adoring grandmother of Ayshea Khan and her husband Geoff Belcher, Yaseen Khan, Jake Goodwin and Tyler Goodwin and great grandmother of Sophia Goodwin. Mary was the sister of the late Claire Kelly and Jeannette Maranhao. We will miss her warm smile, loving hugs and summer squash casserole.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday August 6, 2021 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. with a short "Family Sharing" service from 6:00-6:30pm in the funeral home.
