Erica Grace Conchas, 18, of Ventura, CA, passed away on July 30 in Woodland Hills, CA. Erica was born in Ventura, CA to Lupe and Celso Conchas on May 2, 2003. She went to high school at Foothill Technology, where she was ASB president, and graduated in 2021. She had planned to attend Ventura College in the Fall of 2021.
In her 18 years, Erica made an indelible impact on humanity with her compassion, beauty, infectious smile, intellect, love and overall kindness. Family, friends, and her dog Jermaine were Erica’s passion and delight. She truly cared about people in the purest way. Erica loved them for who they were and because she wished the best for them, without guile and without asking anything in return. She was the most selfless, loving, and beautiful young woman we know.
As one of her high school friend’s recently shared: “Erica. You are such an amazing light in my life and have significantly made my life better. You have inspired me to be the most positive version of myself.”
Erica cherished the time she spent shopping with her mother, she enjoyed music, was often posting pictures on Instagram, goofing around with her twin sister Tina and their family dog, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her family—the adventures included trips to Montana, Texas, Lake Arrowhead, Palm Springs, and Mexico to name a few.
Erica greatly admired the majestic southern California beach; everything about the beach from the sand, the sounds of the waves, the therapeutic sun, the seagulls, and the beauty and grandeur of the ocean. In fact, one of Erica’s favorite pastimes was spent at the beach collecting Sea Glass with her family. The excitement of combing through the sand in search of that perfectly round bright red or light blue piece. That piece that shined so bright it had to be a diamond.
Erica you were that perfect piece—one of a kind that shines brighter than the sun itself.
Erica is survived by her parents Lupe and Celso Conchas of Ventura, her twin sister Christina, her three brothers Jesse, Andrew and Daniel, and numerous family members. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Jose Conchas.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Sunday August 8, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday August 9, 2021 in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
