Marion R. (Caprio) Berwick, a longtime resident of Greenville, RI, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021, at age 93. She was the beloved wife of Robert D. Berwick. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Edith (Cantello) Caprio. She was the sister of the late Donald Caprio, of Illinois.
Marion grew up on Academy Avenue in Providence and worked for Gladding’s and The Outlet Company department stores. She met her husband Robert while they were both working at Gladding’s. They were married in Augusta, Georgia while Robert served in the U.S. Army. Marion and Robert marked their 70th anniversary just last week.
Marion loved to travel, and Robert’s employment provided many opportunities to visit locations around the world. Her favorites were England and Italy, which were the countries where her parents were born. In 2000, she was proud to bring her son and daughter-in-law to see her mother’s hometown of Trowbridge, UK. They also visited other countries in Europe, as well as Australia and locations in the United States. The holidays were an enjoyable time for Marion, and she enjoyed celebrating them with her family.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Robert Berwick, and his wife, Kim of Smithfield. She also leaves her grandson, Casey R. Berwick, and several nieces and nephews.
The Berwick family respectfully requests those people not vaccinated do not attend and those attending services to please wear masks.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville at 11am. Burial will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation is Wednesday morning, 9:30am - 10:30am.
