Obituary

Anne Aichinger passed away unexpectedly at home, on Sunday July 25, 2021 with her husband Cliff by her side.

Anne was a generous, loving, and talented person who raised three wonderful children and doted over her four lovely grandchildren who adored their Nana. Prior to her retirement, she served as Administrator for the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society for Quality and as Business Manager for Organization Management Services.

Anne was a gifted artist who freely shared her countless beautiful creations with family and friends over the years. She had a very full life doing the things she enjoyed most: playing with her grandchildren, reading, traveling, spending time with her dogs, visiting with family and friends, knitting and crocheting, hiking any beautiful trail she could find, and swimming in her pool with a margarita waiting next to her towel. Anne was an excellent hostess who always threw a wonderful party. Whether it was hors d’oeuvres on Christmas Eve or lobsters for her birthday on New Year’s Eve, a simple summer BBQ, or someone’s birthday, she made sure the food was delicious, the drinks flowed freely, and a good time was had by all. She and Cliff had a particular love for visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior, watching sunsets together, and taking long walks on the beach.

Preceded in death by her mother, Marion O’Brien; granddaughter, Fern Aichinger; sister-in-law, Holly O’Brien; nephews: Alex O’Brien, Tim Sweep, and Scott Aichinger. Survived by her best friend and husband of 50 years, Cliff Aichinger; children: Sarah (Josh), Karen, and David (Jessica); grandchildren: Gavin, Joseph, Abigail, and Ella; father, Joseph O’Brien; siblings: Tim, Barb, Dan, Terry and Janet; and many extended family members and friends.

Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 Delta variant cases, we are postponing a memorial service to a later date. Since we cannot be together, please share your memories of Anne virtually. Calls, texts or emails are welcomed. Anne would encourage everyone to get the COVID vaccine so we can all be together again.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society, Second Harvest Heartland, or the Ronald McDonald House.

If you would like to be informed of a future gathering or would like to share a memory at any time, please email [email protected].
