Carolyn Jo (Hammond) Gooding, 77, of Anderson died July 28, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born May 30, 1944, in Anderson, the daughter of John H. and Mildred (Eller) Hammond. She worked production at Guide Lamp before retiring in 2005. She attended a year at David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was a member of Journey Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and made baby blankets for all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the church families.
She is survived by her husband, David Dale Gooding; six children, Jonathan (Angel) M. Plummer, David A. (Twanna) Plummer, Everett A. "Butch" (Donna) Plummer, Brian L. Gooding, Michael (Kim) Plummer, Stephanie A. (Jose) Cervantes; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Don) Nicholson; brother-in-law, Richard Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Charlie Soden of Journey Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
