WORCESTER___Barbara “Basia” Kurkiewicz, 53, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Florida.
Barbara is survived by her siblings, Teresa Stone of Florida; William Kurkiewicz of Millbury; Stanley Kurkiewicz of Worcester; Mary Kurkiewicz of Southbridge; Annette Sangkhum of Shrewsbury and Christine D’Alessandro of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was born in Worcester a daughter of the late Franciszek and Wanda (Paluch) Kurkiewicz and was also predeceased by two brothers, John Kurkiewicz of Texas and Jozef Kurkiewicz of Dudley.
Barbara was a loving sister, aunt and a special friend to many. She was one who had tried many different paths in her life. Those paths enabled many stories to be told and memories to be made with us all. Her nieces and nephews meant more to her than words can describe. Her dogs, Lady, Elvis and Phantom were a loving part of her life. Barbara treasured her family and friends which made her life full and vibrant. She enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts and hanging out with her family and friends. Basia was predeceased by her beloved partner Paul. They made many memories together while traveling the country.
Services for Barbara will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, Ma., 02215. HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL SERVICE, 33 Ward Street is assisting the family.
