Fred Allender
November 11, 1945 - July 23, 2021
Fred Allender, 75, of Anderson, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
He was born on November 11, 1945 in Anderson, the son of Elza Leroy and Olive (Loucks) Allender. He was employed by General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 1996 and had also worked for H & R Block for 21 years. He attended New Day Baptist Church in Alexandria. Fredrick was a member of AA and had been recovered for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing, walking the river, camping, gardening and small game hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly (Capshaw) Allender, whom he married in 1996; children; David (Becky) Allender, Charles (Irene) Allender, Carrie (fiance Dave) Whitley, Michael (Nora) Henson, Mark (Gina) Henson; sister, Sharon Kirby; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Phyllis, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Chris Huber officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the service on Tuesday.
Memorial Contributions may be given to AA.
