Shirley L. Fladger, 74, of Worcester died Friday, July 23rd at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her children, Renae Battiste, Christopher Fladger, Ernest Asante and Victoria Assante; two brothers, Robert Fladger and James Stewart; two sisters, Jo-Anne Fladger and Lisa Stewart-Eccles; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Leona Comeau.
She was born in Columbia, South Carolina the daughter of Elijah Fladger and Shirley (Joyner) Stewart. Shirley was a member of Worcester Seventh-Day Adventist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Shirley retired in 2000 from Laidlaw where she worked as a bus driver. She worked for various nursing homes throughout Worcester, retiring from Spring Valley Nursing Home in 1993.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Health Care and St. Vincent Hospital especially, Hillary, Heather and Paula for the exceptional compassion and care they gave Shirley.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
