Gertrude, her husband Edward, and their 4 children then moved to Westwood in 1970. Gertrude joined a bowling league, The Newcomers Club, and local bridge club. She enjoyed arts and crafts, making many of the holiday decorations displayed in her home. Gertrude assisted her husband on the administrative side of running his construction business. She was a long time member of St. Denis Parish in Islington. Gertrude loved gardening and planting flowers. Her happiest times were those spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and her sister’s family. Gertrude had an infectious laugh that would travel across the room.
