Magaline Grace (Jones) Hoops-Heusel, 91, of Anderson, went to be with her Lord on July 12, 2021 at Community Hospital, Anderson.
Magaline was born December 4, 1929 in Etoile, Kentucky, the daughter of James and Grace (Spradlin) Jones. She was a missionary for the Church of God for 35 years, the second longest serving missionary for the Church of God Anderson. Magaline served as an R.N. over rural clinics in Tanzania, Uganda, and served a decade in Kenya.
Survivors include her son Gary and daughter-in-law Gillian Hoops of Tanzania; surviving grandchildren include, Larissa (of Kenya), Aaron, Ivana (both of Indianapolis) and Jethro Hoops (of Tanzania), among several grandchildren, and step-grandchildren across the U.S. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Magaline was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Roy Hoops and Lorton Heusel; her siblings, Thelma, Wilby “Buck”, Louetta, James, Beulah, Maurice, Paul, Evelyn, Vonda and Russell; and by her daughter Stephanie Viereck Hoops Krajewski.
A Memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson. Visitation will be from 10:00am - 12:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
