FRAMINGHAM: Charlotte Gail (Heckman) Johnson, 83, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late W. Douglas Heckman who was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada and Beulah M. (Battye) Heckman. She was a graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1956 and a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. She worked as a Secretary most of her life and retired in 2008 after completing 25 years as an Administrative Assistant to the Business Manager of Wayland Public Schools. She also worked at Heritage at Framingham for almost 10 years.
Gail was an active member of The Plymouth Church in Framingham for over 50 years. She sang in the choir, served as a Deacon, played in the English Handbell Choir, and served on the Music and Worship Committee. Some of the things that brought great joy to Gail’s life were her family, close friends, her beloved dog Roxy, travel, dance and music.
Gail is survived by her former husband, Roy E. Johnson of N. Grafton, her children Douglas R. Johnson of Millbury, John S. Johnson and his wife Fabiola of Framingham and Lisa Gail Johnson of Boxborough. She is also survived by her brother Richard D. Heckman and his wife Mary of Charlbury, England.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 1:00 o’clock at The Plymouth Church, Framingham with the Reverend Gregory Morisse officiating.
At the family’s request there will be no visiting hours. A private family burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Wayland.
