Thomas L. Hunt, 72, of Chesterfield took his final Journey to heaven on Wednesday, July 14th at Richard Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
He was born to Eugene and Thelma N. Hunt on September 23, 1948 in Anderson, Indiana. He was a Pastor/Counselor for many years, and a Police Chaplain for Anderson and Pendleton Police Departments. Tom was also a Crisis Counselor for the State during the Hurricane Katrina Evacuation. Tom enjoyed helping people, cooking, flying, and was very passionate about woodworking!
Tom was in the Army from 1966 to 1969 as a proud Airborne Member of 10th Special Forces Group serving as a Parachute Rigger in Air Drop and Maintenance.
After the military, he worked at Brockway Glass in Lapel for 17 years before going into ministry full time.
Tom is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Nina (Lehr) Hunt, 1 Sister, Susan Hunt Jones (Jim), 2 Sisters-in-law, Debbie Hunt and Linda Hunt, 5 sons, Chris (Amy), Paul (Courtney), Michael Wallace (Deborah), Tim (Kenny) and Tommy (Sarah), 10 grandchildren, Danielle, Aidrey, Shelby, Carly, Vivian, Kaleb, Ruth Ann, Patrick, Ella and Lucas, and 1 great grandchild, Charlie.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Don and Rick.
Services will be on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Ray Renner officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home.
