Frankie Albert Spurlock, SSG. Retired, 74, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside memorial services will be held 6 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside at the church.
Mr. Spurlock was born September 21, 1946, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Joe H. & Rose Wickes Spurlock. Mr. Spurlock served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam, where he earned two Purple Hearts and served three tours in Germany. He worked with the National Guard Unit of Fitzgerald. Mr. Spurlock retired from the United States Army after 20 years of honorable service. He lived in the Holt community for the past 32 years and worked at Ham’s Pawn & Gun Shop in Tifton, Georgia and a security guard at Tift Regional. Mr. Spurlock loved to deer hunt and was an avid Braves fan and a George Jones fan. He enjoyed his three dogs: Alford, Jones and Jeager. Mr. Spurlock was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Mystic, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Kaye Dunbar Spurlock of Ocilla; one son, Frankie Albert Spurlock, Jr. & Alena of Apopka, Florida; grandchildren: Sally Spurlock, Megan Cox and Joshua Johnson; and two sisters: Judy Downing of Huntsville, Alabama and Janice Hunt of Flintville, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Rachel Johnson.
