TEWKSBURY: Janet A. (Stackpole) (Chandler) Brown, age 86, of Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus on Friday, July 9, 2021.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles R. Chandler, Sr., and the late James Brown.
Born in Lowell on August 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late C. Dustin Stackpole and the late Helen M. (Wallace) Stackpole.
Janet attended the Riverside Grammar School, graduated from Lowell High School in 1951, and received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Tewksbury Hospital School of Nursing.
Prior to her retirement, Janet worked as an L.P.N. at Tewksbury Hospital for 30 years.
She was active with the Tewksbury Hospital Alumnae and the Friends of Tewksbury Hospital organizations.
In addition, she was a foster mother to eighty babies for the Florence Crittenton Legaue of Lowell.
Janet is survived by her son, Edward J. Chandler; six grandchildren, Janet French and her husband David, Daniel Gay and his wife Jodie, Edward Gay and Dawn, Edward Chandler and his wife Megan, Jessica Chandler Field and her husband Michael, and Lisa M. Chandler; 10 great grandchildren, Allyn, Graeme, Owen, Matthew, Dylan, Alyia, Felicia, Cosmo, Dominic, and Anthony. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Janet was the mother of late Charles R. “Chuckie” Chandler, Jr. and the late Lyn A. (Chandler) Gay.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 19, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment of her ashes will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Janet’s memory may be made to Friends of Tewksbury Hospital, 365 East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
