Mary Catherine (McQuade) Evans, 83, of Mattapoisett died April 3, 2006 at Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Oatis Evans.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Florence E. (McCloskey) McQuade, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Wareham in 1972 and Mattapoisett in 1990.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
Mrs. Evans was formerly employed by Cumberland Farms in West Wareham for 15 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing and knitting for her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to travel and visit family.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Evans, and his wife Loretta, of Texas and Patrick Evans, and his wife Kristin, of Fairhaven; a daughter, Susan Oliveira, and her husband Albert, of Rochester; a brother, Bernard McQuade of Wareham; a sister, Bernadette Costa of Mattapoisett; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late John Evans.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Friday, April 7th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Thursday, April 6th from 4-7 PM.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery.
