Those accolades helped him get inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. Buck also played professional basketball in Europe. In 2015 "Buck" was inducted into the UMASS, Boston Athletics Hall of Fame for men's basketball. Buck had many more awards and accolades to name but none were as important as being a loving father and husband. Buck loved to mentor the youth sports at local Medford Parks & Recs leagues, as well as standing in as a father figure for many of his son Sean's Friends. He was recognized by the City of Medford as an assistant basketball coach at the high school; they went on to win the GBC championship.
Ray Recently retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a HUD inspector at LHAND. He also was a local legend of Lynn for his part time bartending at Tony's Pub "The Buck Show". Where ever "Buck" went, he met a new lifelong friend and always left everyone in the room laughing and smiling. He was one of the largest men you could meet physically but nothing was as big as his heart and smile.
Buck’s true love in life was always his family. Buck was with his wife Robin for over 34 years, married close to 28 years. His son Sean was his pride and joy. He taught Sean the love of sports and was beyond proud to watch him accomplish, so much success as a pitcher for St. Mary's High school & Salem State University.
The memories Buck made with everyone are truly priceless and will always be cherished. As long as we hold onto those memories the Legend "Big Buck" will always live on.
