Obituary

Paul Savard knew how to appreciate the good things in life. From the easy-going and idyllic days aboard his boat to the roar of a C-5 on the road, Paul Savard knew how to enjoy life.
Paul D. Savard, Sr., 68, of Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, passed away Tuesday June 8, 2021 in Florida.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and raised in Bellingham, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Hugo and Yvette (Durand) Savard. He was a graduate of Bellingham High School. He resided in Woonsocket for many years before moving to Florida. Paul called Florida his home away from home. Palm trees and sunshine every day were an irresistible draw for Paul; he loved it down in Florida.

In his earlier years, Paul was the owner and operator of Lakeview Interior Trim Company. A well-known builder in the area for many years, Paul was a veteran of the construction industry and was a very talented and highly sought-after master of his craft. Paul had a special love for the ocean. Paul relished nothing more than spending time aboard his power boats cruising Narragansett Bay.

After his retirement from the rough and tough world of construction, Paul opted for the easy-going life of Florida. Paul stayed true to his New England roots as an ardent fan of the Patriots. He also took up fishing as a hobby in Daytona.

Paul is survived by his wife Mary (Lockett) Savard and her sons Jake Lockett and Gavin Clineff.

Paul was the proud and loving father of Paul D. Savard Jr., and his wife Danielle of Blackstone, Michael B. Savard and his wife Victoria of Blackstone, and David C. Savard and his wife Jennifer of Bellingham.

He was the devoted grandfather of Hunter, Parker, Haleigh, Levi, and Blake. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his sons Linda (Brouillette) Savard-Norris of Bellingham.

Paul was the brother of Charlie Savard of Bradenton, FL, Denise Booth of Palm Beach, FL, Louise Jasmin of Georgia, and the late Claudette DeStefani from Bellingham. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services for Paul were held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer society through www.cancer.org.
