Dear Family and Friends of Evelyn Norton,
I am writing to let you know that my Aunt Evelyn earned her angel wings last Thursday, July 1, 2021. She passed away around 4:00 p.m. Aunt Evelyn’s health had been rapidly deteriorating in the last six months.
Around the first of May, her doctor called me concerning her decline in health. He recommended that Hospice be called in for palliative care. Hospice provided a team of medical personnel who assisted the staff at Oak Crest in making her comfortable, attending to daily needs, and providing me with daily updates on her condition. As soon as the school year was over, Sid and I flew to Maryland for four days to be with Aunt Evelyn.
Aunt Evelyn had decided several years ago that she wanted to be cremated. So, I have honored her wishes and have completed that task. The pandemic and the reality of COVID continues to be a big part of our current daily lives. Also, Aunt Evelyn does not have many living relatives, and she has outlived many of her friends and acquaintances, SO TO HONOR HER MEMORY
