Leslie Rey Braley, 65, of Biddeford, ME passed away on July 4, 2021 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her brothers and sisters at her passing. Leslie was born in Lewiston, ME on January 16, 1956, and was raised in Whitman, MA by her parents Helen and Ralph Braley with her 7 siblings.
Leslie lived for many years in Jacksonville and Titusville, FL and Lewiston, ME where she made many wonderful and lasting friendships. She held many widely varied jobs through the years from long haul trucking to cattle farmer. She was most proud of becoming a nurse and had a special calling for nursing in mental health and hospice care. She felt so strongly about helping others live and die with dignity and respect. Leslie loved swimming, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was passionate about music and played three instruments: the flute, the guitar, and the drum. She cherished her time at the Womyn’s Music Festival in Michigan.
Leslie was predeceased by her father Ralph O. Braley. She is survived by her mother Helen (Comeau) Braley and her siblings Keith Braley and his wife Robin, Keely O’Neil, Kent Braley and his wife Diane, Timothy Braley, Jennifer Staines and her partner Jim Stoddard, Nicole Cummings and her husband Jim and Laura Charette and her husband Steven as well as her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
