Leroy A. Eischens
Age 77 of Oakdale passed away peacefully June 29, 2021, in the presence of his family. Leroy served in the MN National Guard and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a longtime member of Operating Engineers Local 49 and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and foreman at B-tu-Mix and Ruffridge-Johnson Equipment Company. He took great pleasure in connecting with people and being of service to all. He had a broad circle of family and friends with whom he shared his expert level mechanical skills, his lifelong passion for deer hunting in his hometown of Two Inlets near Park Rapids, MN, and his retirement hobby of winemaking. Preceded in death by parents, Nick and Mabel; siblings, Lawrence, Barbara, Leona, Lillian, Sylvester, Jerome, Marie, and Kenny. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Janet (March); children, Gary (Karrie), Julie (Dan) Bustos, and Tony (Mel); grandchildren, Nick, Matthew, Louie, Desi, Cece, Ethan, and Walter; siblings, George, Bernard, and Joanne Gitchel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation Sunday, July 11th from 3-7 PM at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 – 7th Ave. E., North St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, July 12th at 11 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 – 15th Street North, Oakdale. Memorials preferred to USA Shooting or MN Conservation Volunteer.
