Sandra (Burhoe) Shagoury, 81, of Tewksbury, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved widow of the late Albert Shagoury who died in 2017 after Fifty Seven years of Marriage.
A daughter of the late George and the late Louise (Manning) Burhoe, Sandra was born February 17, 1940, in South Boston. Sandy had a love for music and in her youth, played drums in the annual South Boston Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. She moved to Somerville with her family and resided there for thirty years before relocating to Tewksbury in 2004.
She was a communicant of St. William's Church. Sandy loved spending summer vacations in Maine with her family and friends. She enjoyed helping others and more recently, helped care for and provide companionship to the elderly.
She is survived by son James Shagoury of Tewksbury, her daughter Loretta (Shagoury) Lamoureux and her husband, Jonathan of Tewksbury, her son Paul Shagoury of Somerville, and her step-son, Steven Shagoury and his wife, Rosalba, of Florida; her eleven grandchildren, Crystal Shagoury, Marygrace Lamoureux, Charlotte Lamoureux, Joshua Johnson, Amelia Shagoury, Richard Shagoury, Mark Shagoury, Matthew Shagoury, Elizabeth Isenor, Adrianne Jones, Reginald Shagoury, and Tania Shagoury; her siblings, Margaret Riddle of Somerville, Robert Burhoe and his wife, Deborah, of Florida, Janis DeYoung of Weymouth, and Thomas DeYoung and his wife, Marilyn of Tewksbury; twelve great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Mary Shagoury, step-mother of the late Richard Shagoury, and sister of the late Joyce Canniff.
Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 Dewey Street 978-851-2061. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St.Tewksbury, followed by her Burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
