Clare Elizabeth (Delaney) Kiely 89, of Webster and a former longtime resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday July 6, 2021 at Webster Manor, following an illness. Clare was born in Roslindale, MA on January 31, 1932 to Leonard Delaney and Mary (Dowling) Delaney. Clare was predeceased by her sister Sr. Maria Delaney CSJ.
Clare is survived by her children, James Kiely and his wife Josie Cambria-Kiely of Sturbridge, Timothy Kiely and his wife Sharlene of Oxford, Christopher Kiely and his wife Suzanne of Worthington, and Daniel Kiely and his wife Christina of North Attleboro. She was the beloved Nana to her grandchildren Jennifer LeBlanc, Melissa Kiely, Mathew Kiely, Erin Kiely and Daniel Kiely Jr. She also leaves behind 7 great grandchildren.
Clare graduated from Regis College in 1953. She lived in Franklin for 54 years and was active in the community. She was the Parish secretary at St. Mary's Church for more than 20 years. She was the president of the Catholic Women's Club several times and was involved with St. Vincent de Paul which was her fondest work. She also volunteered delivering meals on wheels and at the Franklin Senior Center. Clare was happiest when helping others.
Clare loved a cup of tea and a crossword puzzle, knitting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Webster Manor for the wonderful care she received for the past 6 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Monday July 12th at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, Franklin.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
