Arthur B. Senna, 81, died on July 2nd, 2021, the husband of Claudette L. (Michaud) Senna for over 54 years. Born on September 12th, 1939, he was the son of the late Jose and Mary (Maranhao) Senna, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Arthur was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, North Dartmouth, MA where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
He graduated from New Bedford High School and received his accounting education from Kinyon Business School and his Associate's Degree in Accounting from Fisher College.
Arthur was a retired accountant having worked at the former Hemingway Transport until its closing in 1982. Arthur and his wife ran the AB Senna Bookkeeping Services from 1983 to 1995. He retired from the fiscal department at Coastline Elderly Services in 2006. He was a member of the US Army reserve for over 22 years retiring from military service in 1999.
Arthur is survived by his wife Claudette; two sons, Roland Senna of New Bedford and Warren Senna and his wife Abigail of Mattapoisett, MA., two daughters, Melissa Silva and her husband Eric of South Dartmouth, MA. and Susan Benfeito of Westport, MA.; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by a great-granddaughter, five brothers, and seven sisters.
His private funeral was held at St. Julie's Church on Wednesday, July 7th, followed by his burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
