Gerard M. Colin passed away peacefully with his wife Rosette, and
family by his side on July 4th 2021 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
He was 86 years old. Born on December 3rd 1935, in St Marc, Haiti to
Charles Colin and Marthe Dieudonne, he was preceded by his sister
Yolette in death. Gerard was one of a kind. He believed in total
commitment in anything he set his mind to accomplish. He was a great
provider and continued to work without missing a beat until his last
moment. He was a graduate of the Faculté de Droit et des Sciences
Economique with a law degree and later obtained an accounting degree
from Baruch College in New York. Gerard had a long successful career
at Merrill Lynch and the Acra entreprises as one of the top
accountants and CPA in Haiti. Gerard was also an accomplished musician
and was a member of the famed Jazz des Jeunes as a saxophone player.
During his life, he would later spend his free time alongside his wife
Rosette listening to, and writing music that he played on his
keyboard. They were childhood friends that were married and very
devoted to each other for 57 years.
Gerard is survived by his wife Rosette Colin, his children Aly,
Berline, Carl Gerard, Daphnis, Dreyfuss, Eddy, and Fritzner; his step
children Hubert Telfort, Christophe Telfort, Claudy Telfort; 26
grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his
brother Georges Colin and sister Yvette Malivert (Colin), and many
extended family members.
The viewing will be held on Friday July 9th, 2021 from 4-8 PM at
Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home.
The funeral ceremony will take place at 10 AM on Saturday July 10th,
2021 at St Mary Catholic Church 211 N. Main St. Randolph, MA 02368
followed by a burial at Canton Cemetery.
