Gerald "Jerry" Jurczak, a 57 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of Auburn, New York, entered into eternal life suddenly on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his home in Charlestown. He was 79 years of age.
Jerry was born in Auburn, New York on November 27, 1941, a son of the late Anna (Farrell) Jurczak. He grew up in Auburn, New York where he was also educated there. Jerry enlisted into the United States Navy on June 30, 1960 and served his country faithfully and with courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on June 16, 1962 with the rank of Seaman. Jerry worked as a Bus Operator for the M.B.T.A. for over 40 years and retired in 2005. He was a member and Barn Captain of M.B.T.A. Carmen's Union Local # 589. He enjoyed spending time with the Carmen's Retiree Association and also his guys night out with his nephew and best friend Paul Finn. He loved his time vacationing with his family in Sanbornton, New Hampshire and Windham, New Hampshire where he would do boating, snowmobiling. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed bowling, playing cards and Pictionary and attending the annual Ukrainian Festival and cousin festival.
Jerry is the beloved husband of the late Honey (Fleming) Jurczak. He is the devoted and loving father to Geri Jurczak. He is the beloved brother of Richard Beauchine and his wife Carol and the late Paul Jurczak. He is the beloved nephew of Moe and Florence Jurczak. He is also survived by his many loving, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jerry's Funeral on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
