Bettie L. (Pender) Edwards, 74 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was the beloved widow of the late Willie L. Edwards Jr. who passed away in 2005.
She was one of twelve children to the late Orlando Pete Pender and Nina Mae (Jennette) Pender. She was born on October 12, 1946, in Wilson, North Carolina, where she was raised and educated.
For many years she made her home in Lowell, where she had previously worked for the Boys and Girls Club. More recently, she was employed at Market Basket until illness forced her retirement.
Bettie loved her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She also enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and was an avid Boston Sports Fan.
In addition to her mother, Nina Mae Pender of Wilson, NC, her survivors include her children, Ernest Edwards and his wife, Kelley of Somersworth, NH, and Anthony Edwards of Nashua, NH; and her two grandsons, Dominic and Dillon Plourde of Goffstown, NH; as well as her surviving brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

On Friday, July 9, 2021, all are welcome to her calling hours from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
Her funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home at 1 p.m. and will be streamed to ‘McDonough Funeral Home’ Facebook page at: www.Facebook.com/mcdonoughfuneralhome
Funeral services will also be held in Wilson, NC before her burial at Rest Haven Cemetery.
