Richard F. "Dick" Shea, a 28 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of Milton and Jamaica Plain, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home in Charlestown. He was 89 years of age.
Dick was born in Boston on December 25, 1931, a son of the late Peter M. Shea and Eileen J. (Harney) Shea. He grew up in Jamaica Plain where he was educated at Blessed Sacrament Parochial School and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1949. He furthered his education and received Bachelor Degrees in Accounting from both Bentley College and Suffolk University. Dick enlisted into the United States Army on January 7, 1954 and served his country faithfully with honor and courage during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1955 with the rank of Private First Class. Dick worked for State Street Bank for many years and he rose to the position of Senior Vice President of International Banking until his retirement. Family was very important to Dick in his life and he cherished all the special moments he shared with his wife and 3 daughters.
Dick is the beloved husband of 64 years to Eileen M. (McCarthy) Shea, He is the devoted father to his special daughters Roberta Shea and the late Linda Ann Shea who he dedicated his life to making sure she had a full and happy life with down Syndrome and Attorney and F.B.I. Agent Kathleen Shea who also predeceased him. He is the beloved brother of the late Mary Lawton, Theresa McBrine, Eileen Shea, Rita Eastman, Peter Shea and Thomas Shea. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
