Obituary

TAUNTON – Ronald F. O’Connor, 67, of Rehoboth died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Morton Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Theresa A. (Neto) O’Connor.

Born in Taunton, son of Dorothy V. (Leonard) O’Connor of Taunton and the late Francis G. O’Connor he had lived in Dighton for 33 years prior to moving to Rehoboth 8 years ago. Mr. O’Connor was manager and co-owner of Bob’s Sport Shop of Westport. He was a member of the Jericho Christian Fellowship of Middleboro. Mr. O’Connor had been a reserve police officer for over 20 years for the Town of Dighton as well as an officer for the Copicut Range of Fall River. He had also served in the National Guard and was a member of the N.R.A. and G.O.A.L. – Massachusetts Chapter. Mr. O’Connor had served in the capacity of civil defense director and firearms instructor for the Town of Dighton.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by 3 sons: Donald A. O’Connor and David A. O’Connor both of North Dighton and Douglas P. O’Connor of Rhode Island; 1 daughter: Donna M. Perry of Vermont; 1 sister: Karen Poirier of Assonet; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Potter Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 P.M.

Interment in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
