Janice M. Bock, 75, of Simmonsville Avenue, Johnston, passed away Thursday, July 1st with her loving daughters by her side.
Born in Providence, She was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Harriet E. (Lacy) Bock, Sr. She had lived in Johnston for many years.
After her family was grown, she fulfilled her lifelong dream by going back to school to become a nurse. We were so proud of her and her wonderful accomplishment. Janice was an LPN in Geriatrics for many years before her retirement.
She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a member of the Johnston Senior Center and a former member of the Red Hat Society of Johnston. She loved spending time with her family and going out for rides with her daughters. One of her favorite things was stopping for a Blizzard at Dairy Queen. She loved to bake for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, word searches and her Tuesday Bingo games at Simmons Village where she resided and made many new friends during her time there.
Janice was a loving and caring Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She will be missed more than words can say, but the memories we have will keep her close in our hearts forever.
She leaves her daughters Pamela Marzano and her husband Norman of Scituate, RI and Jennifer Cataldo and her husband Robert (Lt. PFD) of Coventry, RI. She was the proud grandmother of Amanda Marzano, Marissa Panzica, Norman Marzano III, Anthony Cataldo, Christina Cataldo and Joseph Cataldo. She was the great grandmother of Paige Panzica.
She also leaves her brothers, David N. Bock (Assistant Chief, PFD, Ret.) , Robert W. Bock RN, Harry W Bock, Kenneth L. Bock (Battalion Chief, PFD, Ret.), Timothy A. Bock (PFD, Ret.) and Stephen W. Bock (PFD, Ret.). She was predeceased by her brother Dennis E. Bock and sister Susan F. Bock She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday July 6th at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
