Estere A. Duplessy Balan, 89 yrs. old passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 30th, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Estere was born in Qudabouque, Haiti April 22nd, 1932. She was a widower of Pierre Balan. Estere was one of eight children of her late parents Desjardins Duplessy and Hermancia Exantus. She had resided in Hooksett, NH for over a year.
Estere is survived by her four children, Immacula Lominy, Kharine Duplessy Amilca, Wagner Balan, and Marie Pierre Balan. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Verjniaud Duplessy, Georgette Similien, Mongray Duplessy, Solange Duplessy, and Philomene Duplessy.
Estere was strong, resilient and hardworking, and always strived for the best for her family. She enjoyed listening and dancing to her favorite haitian band Nu Look. She had a great sense a humor. Estere's favorite word "Cash" was her way of saying everything is going to be ok or she was in agreement with you. Estere was well known for her hospitality always giving sweet treats to anyone she met. Estere will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring, and generous person.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2021 from 1:30 – 4:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Face masks are recommended for those not fully vaccinated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday the 7th at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester NH. Burial will follow at Martins Ferry Cemetery, Hooksett.
