Gary Daniel Wilson, 69, originally from Hyde Park, MA, passed away with family by his side on June 19th, 2021 after a 23 year battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 43 years to Mariann (McBrine) Wilson. Devoted father to Gary D. Wilson Jr and Brian F. Wilson and his wife Jessica (Dennison) Wilson. Loving “Glampa” to his grandsons Charles and William. Gary was predeceased by his father Charles S. Wilson, his mother Kathryn J. (Flynn) Wilson, and brother Charles “Tobey” Wilson.
Gary graduated from Boston Tech High School in 1969. He received a Masters in Public Administration from Northeastern University and later completed his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University in 1988. Gary worked at Suffolk Superior Court for 43 years, earning his position as the First Assistant Clerk Magistrate in the criminal division. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Gary raised his family in Norwood, MA where he was a very active member of the community and continued as such after retiring to Dennis, MA in 2015. Gary most enjoyed spending his free time exploring the beaches of Cape Cod and relishing every moment with his family that he could. Gary was known for his selflessness. He frequently acted as an advisor, mentor and support person for colleagues, friends, and family who all valued his vast knowledge and advice in any situation. Gary had a thirst for knowledge and made certain those around him knew the importance of doing the same.
A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at St. Cecilia Parish in Boston, MA at 11:00am. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes.
