Adis Irene Benitez of Roslindale, at the age of 85, received the call from God Almighty, our Heavenly Father. On June 27, 2021, she has been welcomed with open arms to enter God’s Kingdom known as Heaven to rejoin her beloved husband Ibrahim Enrique Benitez and the rest of her family members. She was born on May 5, 1936 in Santiago de Cuba. She was a devoted and loving mother to her four children.
After her marriage in Cuba, she and her husband arrived in the United States in 1956. They became U.S. citizens in 1994. She always invited family and friends to her home because she loved to cook and people loved her cooking.
She wrote a cookbook which has not yet been published. Her reason for writing this cookbook was not to sell and make money but to share it with her family members and friends. She was a person that would always be willing to do good deeds to make another person happy. She always took care of others before even thinking of what she would like for herself. She was a loyal supporter of Saint Jude Children’s Hospital because she had such love and care for children.
Adis is survived by her four children, Ibrahim A. Benitez and his wife Deidre, Adis Marie Benitez, Olga M. Benitez and Rogelio J. Benitez. Dear sister of Rafael Cabrera and the late Bertha, Ernesto, Ofelia, Inez and Irma. She was a loving grandmother to Alyssa and Kaela Benitez and also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Adis’ Life Celebration on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 10am to 12pm in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury with a prayer service starting at 12pm.
