Obituary

Brandon T. Martinez, 24, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Saturday, June the 19th, 2021, in South Korea. He was born in Mesa, AZ on December 8, 1996 and raised in both Arizona and Londonderry, NH. He was a 2015 graduate of Londonderry High School and received an Associates Degree in Biotechnology from Great Bay Community College in 2017.

He enjoyed working for Shady Hill Greenhouse until he enlisted in the U.S Army in 2019 as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist. He was proud to serve his country and while stationed at 4th CBRN Company, 23rd CBRN Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Humphreys South Korea, he provided critical support and “set a fine example for the other soldiers with his professionalism, teamwork and work ethic.” “Brandon’s grandest quality was in the way he cared for other Soldiers. He had a phenomenally big heart and always wanted to stand up and do what was right for his team. His humorous personality and infectious smile always lit up the formation in his CBRN company.” He received the ARMY Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.

He enjoyed reading, traveling, hiking, camping, skiing, writing and playing music, Warhammer 40K and spending time in the White Mountains of NH. His family and friends will remember Brandon as a free spirited individual, a man who walked his own path and walked it well, one who was not bothered by the opinions of others and who believed that a life enjoyed was a life well lived. He will be sorely missed by his many close friends, his brothers in the Army and especially his loving family.

He is survived by his parents, Librado and April Martinez, his sister Rachael Martinez and brother Tony Martinez, maternal grandparents and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 8, 2021 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 9th at 11:30am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00pm in the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Route 3, Boscawen, NH. The family has requested that donations in Brandon’s memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
