BARROS Baptista “Bert”, “Hook” Longtime resident of Hyde Park, passed away on June 27, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Eloise Barbara Scott Barros. Devoted father of Cheryl Barros of Ft. Myers, FL., Barbara Barros of Hyde Park, Myra Barros of Beaverton, OR., and the late Christine Gonsalves. Loving grandfather of Tyrone, Dorinda, Stephanie, Tamyria, Anthony, Angel, Shelby and Tre. He also is survived by a host of great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was a World War II, and Korea War Veteran, in the U.S. Army. He was a long time employee of the MBTA. Baptista also worked as a painter for many years and a member of Painters District Council #35.
Visitation will be held at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, July 6th from 12-1pm. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 1pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Baptista and Christine Gonsalves memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
