Robert (Bob) Gilbert Healy, 86, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts died on June 28, 2021 at CareOne at Weymouth.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on October 21,1934 to George V. and Helen G. (Greenwood) Healy.
He graduated from Brockton High School in 1952 and Boston University in 1956 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. Following his graduation, he was stationed in New Mexico serving in the U.S. Army until 1961 and then returned to work in Massachusetts for 39 years at Raytheon until his retirement.
Robert married Marilyn E. Leitch of Abington, and they were married for 53 years. They raised their family in East Bridgewater and enjoyed their trips to Florida as well as visiting war memorials along the East Coast. His favorite times were spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Marilyn in 2011, and his only son Michael in 2019.
He is survived by his daughter Marie and her husband Scott Hickey of Abington, his daughter-in-law Joyce Healy of East Bridgewater, and his grandchildren Jacqueline and David Vincent of Raynham, Ryan and Allyson Hickey of Wrentham, Meghann Hickey of Abington, and Kaitlyn Healy of East Bridgewater. He was also “GG Pop” to his two great grandsons Zachary and Jacob Vincent of Raynham.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Wednesday July 7 from 4-7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and his funeral service on Thursday July 8 at 8:15 from the Chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM in the MA Veterans’ Cemetery, Bourne.
