FALL RIVER – Dinis Rocha Machado, age 91 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021 in the comforts of his own home with his loving family by his side. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, he was the beloved husband of Helena (Farias) Machado and the son of the late Antonio Machado and Maria do Carmo (Rocha) Machado.
Prior to retiring, Dinis worked as a Machine Operator for the former Quaker Fabric Manufacturing Co. He was also a Communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. In his free time, Dinis loved to spend quality time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Fernando Machado (wife Ursalina), Dinis Machado (wife Ana), Eduarda de Viveiros (fiancé Robert Gomes), Almino Machado (wife Rosa), and Roberto Machado (wife Melinda) all of Fall River; his siblings: Lourdes Machado, Antonio Machado, and Olivia Machado all of Canada; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. Dinis was the brother of the late Fernando and Eduarda Machado.
A funeral for Dinis will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Friday, July 2nd here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
