CHICOPEE – Jessica M. Cote-Steiger, 44, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 26, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on April 16, 1977, a beloved daughter of Joyce M. (Chagnon) Cote and the late James P. Cote who was Called Home on December 13, 2017. She was raised in Fairview and graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had recently received her Certificate for EKG from Smith Vocational School in Northampton. She was a server for over ten years at John’s Pizzeria on Front Street in Chicopee. Jessica enjoyed spending time tending to her cactuses and garden, collecting carousel horses, and being with her beloved canine buddies, her dogs, Mia and Jada. She leaves her loving mother, Joyce M. (Chagnon) Cote and her partner, Jay Schmidt, of Southbridge; her loving husband, Martin J. Steiger of Chicopee; her two cherished daughters, Ahlysea Ducharme and Trinity Ducharme, both of Chicopee; her dear brothers and her dear sister, Jeremy J. Cote and his wife, Shannon, Justin P. Cote and his partner, Aleah Abert, and Jillian M. Laliberte and her husband, Jason, all of Chicopee; her step-brothers and step-sister, Matt Schmidt of Boston, Ben Schmidt of Dudley, and Sarah Schmidt of Oregon; and her many dear uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her beloved infant daughter, Ashley. Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will be private at a later date at Sainte Rose Cemetery in Chicopee.
