Marie V. (Nurczynski) Grieco, age 102, of Medford passed away on Saturday, June 26, at Glen Ridge Nursing Care of Medford. Raised and educated in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Nellie (Padawiski) Nurczynski. Marie was a long-time resident of East Boston before moving to Medford 25 years ago.
Marie was the family’s rock, lovingly called “Gramski” after skiing into her nineties. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially “Girls’ Weekends” in North Conway and birthday parties in Meredith, NH.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Grieco, and the devoted mother of Ann Thomas and her husband Richard of Peabody, Carole Scrima of North Andover and her late husband John, and Donna Alibrandi and her husband Charles of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Sharon Thomas, Paul Thomas, Kenneth Goggin and his wife Leslie, Laureen Parvin and her husband Ray, Carrie Ferranti and her husband Jason, Phillip Alibrandi and his wife Lori, and Jana Alibrandi. Marie was the loving great grandmother of Kenneth, Victoria, Ryan, Trevor, Ashley, Isabella, Paige and Eliza, and the dear sister of Wanda Zaimes and Diana Tobyne. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, July 2nd at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 9:30 AM through 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
