WORCESTER___Lucille (Lamoureux) Ledoux, 99, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, at Christopher House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, surrounded by members of her family.
Lucille’s husband, Edward J. Ledoux, of 62 years, passed away on July 24 in 2005. Her two children, Diane (Ledoux) Mercadante and Robert Ledoux, are also deceased. She is survived by her nieces, Sylvia A. Desautels of Sturbridge, Sr. Adrienne Lamoureux, P.F.M. of Worcester, and Doris (Lamoureux) Springer of Aylet, VA; her nephews, Loren Robbins of Chelmsford, Kenneth Robbins of Raleigh, NC, and Rev. Richard E. Lamoureux, A.A., of Worcester; her grandsons, Adam Mercadante of Capron, IL and Michael Mercadante of Gardner, MA; and 3 great-grandchildren, Vincent, Anthony and Dominic.
Lucille was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Ludovic Lamoureux and Diana (Gravel) Lamoureux.
She was educated in Worcester Public Schools and lived most of her life in Worcester, at 18 Plantation St. for many years and then at 34 Dallas St. Lucille worked in retail for many years and after retirement was engaged in a variety of volunteer services. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Worcester until she moved to Christopher Heights, where she resided for the past seven 8 years. The family is grateful for the wonderful care given her during her years there and during her brief stay at Christopher House.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 29th, with a Wake at 10 AM and Mass at 11 AM, both in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption University. (Because of the pandemic, family and friends attending the funeral are asked to wear a mask to enter the campus and chapel.) Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Augustinians of the Assumption, 330 Market St., Brighton, Ma., 02135 for their educational mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, is assisting the family.
