Michael D. “Mike” Faliero, of Somerville, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 24th. He was 80. Born in Boston, Mike was the son of the late Dominic and Rose (Puopolo) Faliero. Mike entered into the United States Army in the winter of 1963, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mike enjoyed anything that had to do with cars. He especially loved the classic cars “oldies but goodies”, watching the races at the drag way and putting together his car models. Mike was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working on all types of cars. He had a knack for fine details with a steady hand. Pin stripping was his specialty. When Mike was not working on cars, he enjoyed spending time with his family while sipping on a hot cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. Mike had a heart of gold: “He was easy like Sunday morning”. Michael was a loving husband, wonderful father, the best Papa and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Michael was the beloved husband of Janice (Pousland) Faliero. He was the devoted father of Karen Faliero Gennari, Dawn Faliero Maguire, Michele Faliero Davison and Patricia Pousland. He was the loving Papa of Anthony T. Gennari, Marino D. Gennari, Dylan Maguire, Cody Maguire, Tay “Bowie” Burke and Dante Burke. He was the dear brother of Lorraine Russell, Diane Abell and Elaine Cooney. He was a special friend of Jo-Ann Buonaugurio. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Mike’s family on Thursday, July 1st from 4 to 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service celebrated in the funeral home at 7 PM.
