Obituary

Janice Ann Williams Revilak was born in Taft, California on October 1, 1953. She was the daughter of James F. and Dorothy F. Williams. She only had one other sibling, her brother Garland Duwayne Williams. She helped her parents with their family business which originated in their garage in Pacoima, California. She did typing while her Mother did finances/typing, brother did drafting, and Dad was the inventor. She lived in Pacoima, Sylmar, San Fernando, and Sepulveda. She later became Butte County‘s first lady fire fighter with CDF at the Butte College Ecology Center in 1975-1976. Glass shattered. She spent her career as a teacher through ROP. She taught Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, and Hospital Health Occupations after having worked at Feather River Hospital, (as well as other private practices in and around Paradise, California). Her favorite song was Amazing Grace and her favorite colors were green and purple. Her favorite season was Fall because it is colorful, there is coolness in the air, and the storms and clouds are unpredictable. Her other favorite season was Spring because of the new life that it brings. Her most favorite childhood memories were Route 66, traveling across the United States. She had a particular fondness for Arizona around Flagstaff, Tucson, New Mexico, Texas, the Carolinas, Little Rock, Myrtle Beach, and Greenville. She loved the California Redwoods, the ocean and the Northern Coast. She fondly remembered family trips to Convict Lake on Highway 395 in the Eastern Sierra’s, the Grand Canyon, Vicksburg, war memorials, museums, Griffith Park, and La Brea Tar Pits. She remembered how they never made it to Seattle because her Grandma got ill in the Redwoods. Her favorite food was roasted chicken. Her favorite memory was accepting Jesus in her heart 46 years ago, the births of her children, and her wedding dates. She said the worst days of her life were deaths and divorces. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16-3:17. Her favorite quote was, “waste not, want not.” Her favorite holidays were Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving because she enjoyed being thankful/grateful. She wanted to be remembered for loving Jesus, her family, and her friends. She was devoted, patriotic, and loved her careers. Her favorite physical feature were her green eyes. Her greatest weakness was her timeliness. Her dream car was a 1974-1977 Corvette but she said she liked the new ones. She was most proud of herself for being a Mom. Her favorite thing about herself was her tenacity and compassion for others. Her biggest regret was time wasted in youth. Her favorite accomplishment was her teaching credential. Her most painful experience was her thoracotomy due to a congenital heart defect. She remembered having chest tubes and being on a ventilator; nine days later she woke and began pulling her tubes out! Her favorite item she ever owned was a 1982 FXWG wide glide Harley Davidson. Her favorite person was her Dad who was her hero, and her Grandma Jeffrey who was her birthday buddy. Her favorite childhood memories were in Sylmar with Celia Lee Schwab, Brenda Neil Venegas, Paula Mozzini, Pam and Karen Oliver, Linda Broadley, Teresa and Doug Moes, and Ken and Chris Smith. She was 20% Apache, 3% Creek, and 7% Cherokee. She embraced her Native American heritage. She was also from 39% England/Northwestern Europe, 28% Scotland, 23% Wales, 6% Ireland, 4% Norway. Her Mama was from Texas and Daddy from South Carolina. She had a blended family by marriage. She wanted all of her kids to remember that Jesus loves you and so do we. Walk with God all the days of your life. She said she was saved for 46 years and that God is faithful and true. She wanted you to remember the song Beloved, Let Us Love One Another; 1 John 4: 7-8. She wanted you to impart to your children daily the word of God to build their spiritual muscle.
She had 44 years of friendship with her husband John Revilak, and 23.5 years of marriage. She said her 4 Moore kids, (Lance James, Stephen Terence, Benjamin Joseph, and Kimberly Ann), were the cake; and 4 the Revilak kids, (Miela Ki, Angela Marie, John Stephen and Michael Stephen), were the icing. She wanted to remind you that if you are feeling low to check out Psalms 23. She said there is only one God, one salvation. Remember to teach it to your kids. Her favorite flower was a carnation because they last so long. However, she also loved sunflowers because they are a “happy” flower. She loved the phrase, “don’t worry, be happy”. She was often referred to as ‘Pollyana’, but I called her my Jesus-lovin’, biker-hippie Mama, and I’ll forever remember her this way.
