Obituary


Kathleen Lambert McDonough, 75, of Abington, Massachusetts died on June 25 at her home in Abington after a long illness.

Born June 28, 1945, the eldest of three daughters of Ed and Evelyn Dennehy.

She graduated from Bridgewater State College and then moved with her husband, the late Peter Lambert, to Plymouth where they lived until his passing in 1979.

Kathleen then moved to Abington and remarried to Robert J. McDonough in 1981 until his passing in December 2018.

Kathleen was a passionate teacher of children with special needs, which she actively taught until her retirement. She was an avid painter, volunteer, gardener, hockey mom and traveller of the world.

She leaves behind one daughter, Kerri Jean Ranous and four sons, Peter and Michael Lambert, and Robert and Jeffrey McDonough and their spouses. She was the proud grandmother of Hannah, Alexander, Pippa, Maxwell and Maya Lambert, Ryan and Mathew McDonough, Nicholas, Jacob, and Cameron Ranous, and Aiden and Connor McDonough. She also leaves behind two sisters, Eileen Kelley and Maureen Burroughs.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Tuesday June 29 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, and her funeral service on Wednesday June 30 at 9:45 AM from the Chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
