Doug Motes, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Mr. Motes was born March 8, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Odieus & Glennis Everett Motes. He was an electrician for Arising Industries and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Motes of Fitzgerald; children: Shelly Maybie, Eric Motes and Michael Motes, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Matthew Hall, Kaylee Waller & Johnny, Joseph Motes, Colt Maybie, Kaedyn Maybie and Cameron Motes; great-grandchildren: Khrysee Hall and Leland Waller; and two sisters: Deborah Fain of Kentucky and Janice Sanders of Acworth.
