Germaine M. (Des Rochers) Cheney, age 101, passed away on June 19 in Florida. She was born on January 18, 1920 in Holyoke, a daughter of the late Napoleon Des Rochers and Amanda (Florent Des Rochers). Germaine was an advertising and news writer throughout her career and continued working and playing tennis until the age of 85. She is predeceased by her husband Alan "Roger" Cheney and her sons Alan Tremblay and Rodney Tremblay. She leaves many family members, including grandson, Jason Tremblay and his two children, Tyler and Juliana of Florida; granddaughter Kristin Sarkar of Georgia; grandson Steven and family of Ohio, and countless other extended family and loved ones who will miss her dearly. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Monday, June 28, 2021 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Longmeadow at 10:30 AM.
